Sometimes it seems like the Zope and Plone community needs some supercharging here locally...well, some great volunteers (including Derek, Noah, Josh, Brandon) thought it would be wise to bring some Zope/Plone heavy hitters to town to inform, inspire, and ignite the local communty...so here they come!

What: Repoze

When: 7:30pm, Dec 13, 2007 Note: you must RSVP for security reasons.

Where: Turner, 1050 Techwood 1050 Techwood, Atlanta , GA 30308

Who: Chris McDonough and Tres Seaver

Chris McDonough and Tres Seaver are principals at Agendaless Consulting.  Tres is the originator of Zope's CMF (Content Management Framework), the framework upon which Plone is based, and is a regular contributor to the Zope codebase.  He has been working with Zope since 1999.  Chris has worked with Zope since 1999, and has contributed to the Zope codebase regularly since then.  Chris is also the originator and primary maintainer of supervisor, a UNIX process controller written in Python.  Chris and Tres (along with Paul Everitt) are the originators and main developers of Repoze.

As Martin Aspelli says, "this is the future". Yes, all the modern, flashy, catch phrases for web applications - available in Zope and Plone. For a quick start on how to use it with Zope 2 and Plone, check out the PDF from Repoze. Read Chris's story about why Repoze...

Don't ask me for more details - I'm not a developer :) But it sounds like fun...I hope we can use it to integrate multiple web systems (blog, CMS, youtube...) and deliver with non-Plone frontend. I guess I'll see!

But come to the event on Dec 13!!! Note: you must RSVP for security reasons.
